It’s the last day of the Summer School but there are still lectures to go to. Amazingly most people make it, albeit a little late to the first lecture by Risto Kunelius on Theories of Power and Studying the Media which was very engaging. I just wish’d I’d been a little more alert. Maria Heller injected a element of humour into he lecture on the The Structure of the Public Sphere at the Time of New ICTs which was welcomed and made for a good final lecture.
We’ve all been asked to prepare a presentation for the end of the Summer School within our flow groups. Yellow, the flow group I was in, decided to perform a fake television phone show on ‘The Future of Cultural Studies’ (left). This was a satirical evaluation of the Summer School programme. We even had a script, sound effects a backdrop photo and new lyrics for the song Yellow Submarine sung over Karaoke Youtube video.
Left, the yellow flow group shot outside the faculty after our presentation.
The farewell meal is in a Asian Fusion restaurant and the food is by far the best yet and there is a really good atmosphere with a genuine feeling of connection and respect for one another.
